The Perpetual Virginity of Mary and Erik Twist

Due to a wonderful confluence of different factors including Erik's recent post and my reading of Medieval theology, I felt compelled to share with you that the following verses were universally understood by the Medieval church to refer to Mary's perpetual virginity:

Ezekiel 44:1 and 2:
Then he brought me back to the outer gate of the sanctuary, facing the east; but it was closed.
He said to me: This gate is to remain closed; it is not to be opened for anyone to enter by it; since the LORD, the God of Israel, has entered by it, it shall remain closed.

Just one of those wonderful historical factoids that I love.
