Saint John Lateran in Rome
Saint John Lateran: The Cathedral Church of the Diocese of Rome.
We forget sometimes that Rome is a diocese, but Saint Peter's is not the cathedral of that diocese.

In all honesty, I wonder if it is a pain to get anything done if you need to submit paperwork in that diocese.
I mean, my bishop is a pretty busy guy. Does the Pope go and do all the confirmations every year in that diocese?
I think there is a guy who basically does all the paperwork for him. I forget his title though.
His title is "Cardinal Vicar" and his job is basically that of diocesan bishop for the Archdiocese of Rome:
Cardinal Vicar
