All I can say is 'boooooooo'. If women need any proof they have a fight on their hands in Islam for equality - right thurr, right thurr.

Forgive me if this subject has already been covered as I am new to following this blog...
But...
I don't doubt that this hadith is real nor that some number of Muslims would follow, emmulate or otherwise take it under advisement. But how many? This is not a rhetorical question. I am really wondering how many.
I have been looking for authoritative accounts of how many "radical Muslims" are part of the overall Islamic world.
No doubt, Muslims are becoming more and more radicalized and the Qur'an has much in it that allows for this kind of rhetoric, but still what kind of numbers are we dealing with?
The closest number I've heard is that 20% of the Muslim world is radical/Islamicist/fundamentalist. Would you agree? Why or why not?
Finally, what role do these hadiths play? I know that all Muslims follow the Qur'an but that hadiths are a different story. As I understand it, different Muslims hold to different hadiths. Are there certain collections that certain groups look to more than others?
Thanks for letting me dive in here. And thanks for keeping the education/awareness going.
