The kit allows a bride who is not a virgin to pretend that she is. A pouch inserted into the vagina on her wedding night ruptures and leaks a blood-like liquid designed to trick a new husband into believing that his wife is chaste. It's a wink of ingenuity to soothe a man's ego and keep the dowry intact.

I read this too when it was first published... and all I could think of is "wow, how funny it is that these women fear their men more than God. That they would give up their virginity and then try to fake it" and "It is crazy why these mens' biggest concern is the virginity of the women." then I thought immediately following "wow, how funny is it that women in my country don't fear God at all... they don't even care. And the men here don't even know how to tell if a woman is a virgin" Last time I checked, isn't pre-marital sex forbidden in Christianity just as it is in the other monotheistic religions? Doesnt this blood on first night actually come from christian communities? As I remember as recently as in Freud's time, it was there and infact Dr. Freud had cured some peculiar cases himself. Strange, Christiandom, a psudo-religion responsible for killing more human beings than all other cults religions and social systems combined, today is criticizing other religions. Strange indeed, a religion out of which Nazism, Communism, conlonialism, and slavery and neo-slavery and slaughtering aboriginals of two continents to the point of their extinction, today has got the morality to speak. Strange indeed.
Actually Islam probably is the only religion in which non-virgin women are officially allowed to marry and divorce at will. Other religions like Hinduism and Christianity do not have provisions for non-virgins marriage and divorce at all except those which have been created now out of "necessity" and in disregard for the religious laws governing those religions.

Christians killed 52,000,000 humans only in world war 2. That does not include the Russian deaths behind the lines. Can any religion, cult,... come even close? Slavery, butchery of natives of far away lands and other pecularities are only part of christianity. That is the strange part.
