This blog is written by a Christian living in the Middle East. My desire is to discuss Islam and Christianity in ways that will be helpful for people of the other religion.
I know an Indonesian Christian living here in the States on a visa. After seeing this on your blog, I asked him about the religious situation in Indonesia. He said the same thing as this NPR story.
Yes Steve, and it is getting worse. I think a lot of it depends on the ethnicity and the region. Even here in the Middle East Islam is growing more intolerant and violent than it used to be. I wonder if it is something like a man who gets pushed around by his boss at work so he takes it out on his kids, you know? Like Muslims do so poorly in many fields like human rights, technology, education, economics, and so on, so they need a whipping boy. That's Christians and/or women.
